Since the launch of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a colorful mix of characters, and a gripping narrative featuring divine entities, fiends, and dark forces expanding in strength within the urban setting.
Warning: Spoilers for the latest installment of the new season are included.
The Warrior Group Introduced
The third episode ended with a major cliffhanger and presented the first table of characters who will split off from the main group to begin their independent quest, apart from the other two tables.
The combat-focused team includes Teor (played by Travis), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
The Reason for Division
Considering an extensive roster, it was clear from the beginning that maintaining everyone at one table would be unfeasible.
This explains, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, intertwining the characters’ stories before branching into three separate parties: Soldiers, Strategists, and Questers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for adventurers who enjoy a traditionally charged battle-oriented story mode where peaceful solutions are scarce.
At first glance, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might appear mismatched, but the actions of the latest installment make it clear why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the combat party.
Reasons to Leave
First, the team understands precisely where to go next after a violent initial meeting with the enemy group.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose passing initiated the narrative’s action—exploited The Crow Keepers for his own means, invading the secret base, striking Thimble, and swiping all the magical artifacts to auction.
The antagonist then cleared his obligations and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, above the urban center, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each member has a individual motive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as the companion and closest confidant, desires revenge.
- Kattigan has experience in Timmony and warns that it is a nasty environment.
- Tyranny and The healer, having resisted his house’s orders to kill Teor and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- However, their status as important members in the influential clan could assist the party enter locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, The grateful character vowed a unbreakable promise to The savior for his rescue and will now follow him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the authorities that control the setting for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The rogue and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and Wicander betrayed the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- The target is marked for death by House Halovar.
This means them few options but to journey toward the remote area in search of the antagonist.
What’s Next?
According to the recent installment’s Cooldown, we find out that the Soldiers table won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight participants to assemble the Questers and Schemers groups.
Viewers can expect learning which players will be in which group in the story’s concluding setup installment, released on October 24.
